Reflections of May at Oakland Court

May brought warmth, creativity, and celebration to Oakland Court, from outdoor fun to meaningful milestones, our residents embraced every moment.

We began with a sunny day outdoors, enjoying refreshing drinks, good company, and bright smiles. Janette’s piano performance and quiz brought music and mental fun, while Arts & Crafts sessions saw residents painting vibrant flowers and creating colourful Scratch Art.

Our Knit & Knatter Club continued as a weekly highlight, alongside cheerful Balloon Volleyball and Safe Darts sessions, which sparked friendly competition. On Nurses Day, residents expressed gratitude through flower arranging, filling the home with colour and love.

A special milestone was Laura’s 10 years of service at Oakland Court — a decade of dedication we proudly celebrated. May also marked the 80th Anniversary of VE Day, with residents painting Union Jack flags and enjoying a nostalgic performance by Zoe Jackson. A trip to Tangmere Military Museum allowed residents to explore RAF history and share reflections.

Scruffy, our furry friend, brought joy during his visit, while a lively Music & Dance session with Suzanne had residents clapping, singing, and even dancing. The month ended beautifully with a relaxing Sunday Singalong and more fun.

May at Oakland Court was a celebration of life, creativity, and connection. From music to history, art to sunshine, every moment was cherished. As June approaches, we carry forward these wonderful memories and the strong spirit of our community.
