Francesca Marsh
Business Administrator
Since joining Oakland Care Group, I’ve experienced a renewed sense of purpose and enthusiasm—something I thought I had lost after being made redundant back in 2020. At the time, I truly believed my career had stalled, but working here has completely transformed my perspective.
The leadership at Oakland Care Group has created a culture where every staff member feels genuinely valued and understands that the work we do matters. In a sector that is often overlooked, the organisation has redefined how care professionals are perceived, showcasing their skills, dedication, and the importance of their roles. This mindset is evident across the entire organisation and starts clearly from the top.
In recent years, I’ve developed both professionally and personally. Being recognised as Clerical Worker of the Year 2025 was an incredibly proud moment for me, one I credit to the culture of recognition and support that Kevin Humphrys, the CEO, and the Directors have fostered.
I’ve learned so much from observing the leadership here. The approach to complex situations—with fairness, diplomacy, and clarity—is truly inspiring. This has shaped my own way of navigating challenges in my role and has helped me grow immensely.
The culture of respect, purpose, and excellence at Oakland Care Group is not achieved in isolation. It is a testament to the strong and consistent leadership at all levels of the organisation. I feel fortunate to be part of a senior team where forward thinking, fairness, and collaboration are modelled every day.
I am proud to be part of the journey Oakland Care Group is shaping, and I am excited to see what the future holds.
Julie Dunstall
Lead Practitioner - Oakland Grange
My name is Julie, and I’ve been part of the Oakland Grange family for ten and a half years. I started as a night Care Practitioner, working night shifts for a few years before moving to day shifts. While the 12-hour days can be long, the job satisfaction far outweighs the hours.
Over time, I progressed to Senior Care Practitioner and now hold the role of Lead Practitioner. While my role is primarily office-based, I still remain actively involved in the caring side, which I love. Providing our residents with the time, care, and empathy I would have given my own parents gives me immense satisfaction. Oakland Grange truly feels like my second home, and I’m always happy to step in and pick up extra shifts when needed.
The residents at Oakland Grange deserve the very best, and our aim is always to improve their quality of life. We’re incredibly fortunate to have an amazing manager in Kim. Her knowledge, leadership, and compassionate approach have played a huge role in making our home what it is today.
Since I started in 2015, I’ve seen technology evolve to enhance the care we provide, but one thing remains constant: every moment here is memorable.
Our CEO, Kevin, is also a fantastic leader. He’s approachable, supportive, and always willing to listen without judgment. Knowing you can speak to him in confidence is a great comfort.
Oakland Grange is a wonderful place to work, with an incredible team that pulls together, especially in challenging times. I’m proud to be part of such a dedicated and caring community.

My name is Jeliet Coronado, and I have been a Senior Care Practitioner at Oakland Care Group since October 2005. I truly enjoy engaging with our residents, especially during events and activities—it’s incredibly rewarding to see them happy and well cared for.
Oakland Care Group provides continuous training through modules, hands-on demonstrations, and examinations, which have greatly contributed to both my personal and professional growth. What truly sets Oakland apart from other companies I’ve worked for is the high-quality care we deliver, as well as the respectful and dignified environment we maintain.
Every special event I’ve designed and organised has been memorable, as my efforts are always appreciated and recognised. We are treated fairly, and our suggestions or concerns are genuinely heard.
To anyone considering joining Oakland Care Group, don’t hesitate—you will feel valued, cared for, and appreciated in this supportive and compassionate workplace.
Meirion Perring
Head Chef - Oakland Grange
My name is Meirion, and I am the head chef at Oakland Grange in Littlehampton, part of the Oakland Care Group. Having had the privilege of working with Oakland Care Group for over eight years, I can genuinely say it has been an absolute pleasure to represent Oakland Grange and embody the organisation’s core values of compassion, dignity, and respect.
The support I have received, alongside opportunities for personal development, has been instrumental in building my confidence to deliver a first-class dining experience for our residents. The freedom I have in managing all aspects of the kitchen has allowed me to develop new skills, introduce fresh ideas, and train and coach an exceptional kitchen team. Exceeding our residents’ highest expectations is incredibly rewarding and brings me immense satisfaction.
It’s truly fulfilling to be a valued member of the team, especially when the care home’s registered manager works so collaboratively with everyone. Even the CEO takes the time to visit and say hello in the kitchen, which reflects the supportive and close-knit culture at Oakland Care Group.

From the moment I joined Oakland Court, I realised it was so much more than just a job—it was a community, a family, and a home. Over the past nine years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting our wonderful residents, working alongside the most caring and dedicated colleagues, and growing both personally and professionally in ways I never imagined. Being part of such a special place has truly been one of the greatest honours of my life.
What sets Oakland Court apart is the genuine warmth that fills every corner of the home. The smiles, the laughter, and the stories shared over cups of tea are the moments that leave a lasting impression. I feel incredibly proud to contribute to an environment where everyone is valued, respected, and cared for with dignity and kindness every day.
As I approach my tenth year at Oakland Court, I am filled with immense pride and gratitude. I cherish the trust that has been placed in me, the friendships I’ve built, and the difference I’ve been able to make. Ellen Carter
Advanced Care Practitioner - Oakland Grange
I’ve been working at Oakland Grange for nearly five months now, and the experience has been truly eye-opening. Having worked for larger care companies in the past, I can honestly say that Oakland Care feels very different — in the best possible way. With only two homes, there is a genuine sense of community and connection. Even our CEO, Kevin, visits us every week, which is something you’d never experience in larger organisations.
Oakland Grange is a fantastic place to work. Our management team is exceptional. The support, the teamwork, and the genuine care for both staff and residents make it a company I am proud to be part of.
Julie Alderton
Senior Care Practitioner - Oakland Grange
My name is Julie Alderton, and I joined Oakland Grange on 6th November 2023 as a Care Practitioner. In May, I was thrilled to secure a promotion to Senior Care Practitioner, thanks to the exceptional support and encouragement I’ve received.
I love going to work each day, making our residents’ days brighter, whether by chatting about their memories or getting involved in activities. A standout moment for me was organising an ABBA dance show with colleagues and residents—it was such a joyful experience for everyone.
The support from management has boosted my confidence and helped me grow professionally. Oakland Grange is by far the best place I’ve worked. The team is welcoming, the home is beautifully decorated, and residents’ opinions are genuinely valued.
Oakland Care Group truly stands out for its commitment to training, career development, and creating a supportive, inclusive environment. Some of my happiest memories are the summer and Christmas parties for residents and families, where the atmosphere is magical, and everyone works together to create unforgettable experiences.
I’d wholeheartedly recommend Oakland Care Group to anyone—it’s a fantastic place to work, with incredible teamwork and a genuine focus on making a difference.
I genuinely enjoy going to work each day and look forward to making our residents’ days brighter. Whether it’s sitting with them, chatting about their memories, or listening to their stories about their younger years, their work, or their travels, it’s always a joy. I also love getting involved in activities. One of my favourite moments was when two colleagues and I organised an ABBA dance show. We even bought our own outfits and rehearsed a dance routine with six of our lady residents. It was a fantastic experience that everyone thoroughly enjoyed!
The management team has been incredibly supportive, helping me grow from my original role as a Care Practitioner to my current position as a Senior Care Practitioner. Their encouragement has boosted my confidence, and I’ve found all aspects of training to be both rewarding and invaluable.
Having worked in several care homes throughout my career, I can honestly say that Oakland Grange is the best place I’ve worked. From the moment you walk in, there’s a warmth and friendliness that is so welcoming. Every member of the team is willing to help and works together seamlessly. The home itself is beautifully decorated, with bright and cheerful rooms, and it’s clear that residents’ opinions are valued and their needs are always prioritised. The open-door policy and the welcoming attitude toward residents’ families create a truly inclusive atmosphere.
Oakland Care Group stands out because of the training and development opportunities they provide. They not only help us excel in our current roles but also actively encourage and support career progression. They genuinely want their staff to succeed.
Some of my most memorable moments have been the summer and Christmas parties that Oakland organises for residents and their families. The effort that goes into these events is extraordinary—from staff dressing up in fancy dress to the incredible food prepared by our chefs and management serving everyone. The entertainment is always outstanding, and the atmosphere is truly magical.
I also value the support I’ve received from my colleagues and management, especially during a very difficult time in 2024 when I lost both my mum in January and my dad in July. The care and understanding shown by everyone were a great comfort and meant so much to me.
I would wholeheartedly recommend Oakland Care Group to anyone. It’s a supportive and inclusive environment with opportunities for professional development and a healthy work-life balance. The atmosphere is fantastic, colleagues are always willing to help, and it’s a genuinely rewarding place to work.
