December has been a truly festive and heartwarming month at Oakland Grange, filled with music, creativity, celebration, and wonderful moments shared together.
Entertainment and activities brought plenty of laughter and joy throughout the month. Nick’s Mobile Skittles was a firm favourite, with residents and staff enjoying friendly competition and lots of encouragement. Music continued to bring everyone together as Kerry and Sue filled the home with familiar songs and smiles, while Leyla’s festive singing had residents dancing and singing along.
Creativity shone during our festive craft sessions, with residents making beautiful Christmas wreaths and robin baubles, each one unique and proudly displayed around the home. We also loved Peggy’s knitted Christmas pudding hats for chocolate oranges – a thoughtful festive touch that brought many smiles.
We were delighted to welcome local schools, including a talented school band and pupils from White Meadow School, who filled the home with Christmas carols and festive cheer. A very special visit from Father Christmas added even more excitement to the season.
One of the highlights of the month was our Oakland Grange Christmas Party. With fantastic entertainment from Maddi, a delicious festive spread prepared by our chefs Mi and David, and the support of our wonderful staff and families, it was a joyful celebration enjoyed by all. We also took time to celebrate special moments, including Mary’s birthday, and held our final residents’ meeting of the year, ensuring everyone had the chance to share their thoughts and ideas.
As December comes to a close, we reflect on a month full of warmth, community spirit and festive cheer. Thank you to everyone who helped make this Christmas season so memorable.
