The festive season was in full swing at Oakland Care Group as both our homes hosted their annual Christmas parties, bringing together residents, families, and staff for two magical days of celebration.
Oakland Court kicked off the festivities on Thursday 5th December, followed by Oakland Grange on Thursday 12th December. Our incredible staff teams went above and beyond to transform both homes into winter wonderlands, with many team members coming in during their own time to help with decorations and preparations. The dedication shown by our teams truly exemplified the Oakland Care Group spirit of putting our residents first.
Both events were filled with joy, laughter, and seasonal cheer, featuring spectacular entertainment from our regular performer Maddie, who had everyone singing along to festive favourites and classic tunes. Our teams worked tirelessly to ensure every detail was perfect.
Our talented chefs, Meirion and Zak, outdid themselves with an impressive spread of seasonal treats and delicacies that delighted all our guests. The catering teams started preparations days in advance to ensure everything was perfect for these special occasions.
The wonderful atmosphere was enhanced by the generous support for our Christmas raffles, with many lucky winners taking home fantastic prizes. Staff members from all departments contributed to making these events truly special, with many coming in on their days off to help create these memorable celebrations for our residents and their families.
The success of these events follows our summer parties fundraising achievements, which enabled us to purchase large-screen portable tablets for both homes. These devices are continuing to enhance our residents’ daily activities through interactive games, quizzes, and entertainment.
We’ll be announcing in the coming weeks how the funds raised from our Christmas raffles will be used to further enhance our residents’ entertainment and activities programmes.
