May at Oakland Grange was a month brimming with laughter, creativity, and community spirit, as our residents engaged in a variety of delightful activities that brought joy and cherished memories to all.
Week 1: The month kicked off with a vibrant game of “Name That Tune” led by Jeanette, who had residents eagerly guessing familiar melodies. Wednesday afternoons were reserved for bingo gatherings with John as our enthusiastic host. Margaret showcased her lucky streak by winning two games, delighting everyone. Residents indulged their sweet tooth by decorating fairy cakes for afternoon tea, adding their creative flair to the treats. The charm of Quoits provided friendly competition and enjoyable exercise.

Week 2: The sunny weather was perfect for a beach stroll, with Leon, Winnie, and Darlene enjoying the sea breeze. A game of pairs offered a fun and mentally stimulating challenge, enjoyed by all participants. Maddi’s captivating musical performance filled the home with such energy, with a delightful array of musical. Gardening Day saw residents planting sunflowers, as we eagerly anticipate the growth of the plants.
Week 3: The week began with a morning exercise session led by Liz. John treated everyone to an inspiring talk as he shared his passion for the RNLI. We welcomed Dan, a future physiotherapist, on a two-week placement, as he assisted Liz with the morning exercise. Nathan’s musical performance was a highlight, his warm voice transforming an ordinary afternoon into a moment of joy.
Week 4: Residents had a blast playing football hoopla, bringing joy to all involved. Creative art sessions saw residents using silhouettes, buttons, and felt to create vibrant prints, proudly presenting their masterpieces. A much-anticipated performance by Leila enchanted everyone. A beach stroll rounded off the week, with Sylvia and Pat enjoying the seaside despite a bit of wind.
