Reflections of June at Oakland Court

June was a joyful and vibrant month at Oakland Court, filled with hands-on creativity, musical entertainment, and memorable moments of connection. We started the month on a colourful note with a delightful Arts & Crafts session, this time, crafting Lego Flowers! Despite the fiddly bricks, our residents showed patience, teamwork, and impressive skill, resulting in stunning floral creations. Later in the month, we took our creativity to the canvas with a Tape Painting session, displaying our residents’ artistic flair in vibrant patterns.

Zoolab UK brought a hands-on sensory experience as residents showed incredible courage and curiosity as they met a tarantula, snake, and other fascinating creatures. The room was buzzing with conversation, laughter, and a few surprised gasps!

Of course, June wouldn’t be complete without some musical magic, and Maddi Cryer brought just that with another fantastic performance. Her songs filled us all with joy as everyone tapped their feet, clapped and sang along with beaming smiles.

We also enjoyed some relaxing time outdoors with a gardening session, where residents tended to plants while soaking up the sunshine. Later, we hosted a Cheese & Wine Night, offering a delicious variety of flavours and a fun quiz to test our culinary knowledge, a sophisticated and laughter-filled evening enjoyed by all.

To top it all off, we held a belated Father’s Day celebration, taking time to honour the wonderful men of Oakland Court with warmth, gratitude, and heartfelt appreciation. We’re grateful for the creativity, companionship, and community spirit that made June such a special month.
