Reflections of January at Oakland Court

January was a wonderful opportunity to make cherished memories together as we welcomed the new year.

We kicked off 2025 with a burst of creativity and festive cheer! Our New Year’s Day Arts & Crafts session was a huge hit, with residents diving into a variety of creative activities. The stunning creations that emerged were a true testament to everyone’s artistic flair. Following the crafts, our residents gathered for a special New Year’s Day lunch, looking absolutely fantastic in their festive crowns.

The creativity continued as we hosted our first Knit & Knatter session of the year. The room was abuzz with conversation, laughter, and the clicking of knitting needles. Residents enjoyed connecting over a shared love for knitting, rediscovering old hobbies, and creating beautiful pieces together. The sense of accomplishment was truly priceless!

We were treated to a fantastic performance by Kerry & Sue, a talented musical duo who filled the room with energy and classic tunes. It wasn’t long before everyone was singing along, and the joy was truly contagious. Later in the month, we enjoyed another special performance from The Regis Rhythms, who kept spirits high and toes tapping. And of course, we couldn’t forget the wonderful Abby Charman, whose performance left everyone smiling. Music truly has a way of bringing us all together.

Our Book Club group reading sessions, led by the wonderful Gina, brought more smiles and meaningful conversations as residents gathered to immerse themselves in stories and share their thoughts. The month ended with a fantastic Elvis Presley tribute by Dave, who transported us back in time with his incredible performance. It was the perfect way to round off an unforgettable month of memories and celebrations.
