Reflections of February at Oakland Grange

February has been a wonderful month at Oakland Grange, filled with laughter, creativity & special moments together.

The month began with lively entertainment as Nick visited with mobile skittles, sparking friendly competition. Musical moments continued with a fantastic sing-along session with Ryan, while quieter activities such as word searches and colouring provided relaxing opportunities to unwind together. A particular highlight was our cheese tasting event, where Double Gloucester with chives was crowned the clear favourite.

Creativity shone during our arts and crafts sessions, including colourful paper butterflies and Chinese New Year celebrations, where residents made vibrant Chinese horses. Music from Leila brought wonderful energy to the home, and Friday night karaoke proved a big hit with residents and staff alike. We also shared a very special moment preparing one of our treasured residents for their upcoming 103rd birthday with a well-deserved manicure.

Love and laughter filled the home during Valentine’s week, with pamper sessions, a fun jelly face challenge judged by CEO Kevin, and a fantastic Elvis tribute performance enjoyed by all. The week ended with a cosy movie afternoon – complete with treats.

Our final week of February was full of celebration, including a lively Pancake Flipping Contest, creative flower arranging and French knitting sessions, and a joyful visit from the children at Jiggle Wiggles. We were also delighted to celebrate Win’s incredible 103rd birthday – a truly special milestone. Staff karaoke and a relaxing spa afternoon provided the perfect ending to a busy and joyful month.

February has been filled with meaningful moments, laughter and togetherness. We look forward to many more memories ahead.
