February has been a busy and joyful month at Oakland Court, filled with music, creativity, reminiscence and meaningful moments shared together.
The month began with a relaxing water therapy afternoon, offering calm and wellbeing for everyone involved. Residents also enjoyed a lively game of Blankety Blank, sparking laughter and friendly competition, alongside a nostalgic reminiscence session exploring the year England went decimal with pounds, shillings and pence.
Travelling the world from the comfort of home, residents explored the Seven Wonders of the World, sharing memories and fascinating conversations. Musical entertainment from Kerry & Sue brought smiles all round, followed by delicious homemade cupcakes enjoyed together.
Creativity continued throughout the month with weaving, painting and musical activities, ending with a peaceful wellbeing day that provided relaxation and time to unwind. Residents also embraced a sporty spirit as we celebrated the Winter Olympics with a variety of themed games and activities. The wonderful Inna delighted everyone with a beautiful violin performance, while Valentine’s crafts and cuddles with Bear added warmth and affection to the week. The fun concluded with our very own Pancake Olympics, full of laughter and friendly competition.
We also celebrated cultures and traditions from around the world during Chinese New Year, enjoying fortune cookies and watching dragon dancing celebrations. Music remained a highlight, with fantastic performances from Wayne Ford, Jeanette, Zoe Jackson and Geoff, whose trumpet performance was a wonderful way to bring everyone together through song. The month finished with creativity in full swing as residents made colourful Mardi Gras masks and watched vibrant carnival processions.
February has been filled with laughter, creativity and togetherness at Oakland Court. We look forward to another exciting month ahead.
