November at Oakland Court has been filled with colour, creativity, music, & plenty of heart-warming moments.
As the days grow colder, our home grew brighter with laughter, crafts, and shared experiences that brought residents and staff together beautifully.
We started the month with a wonderful craft session making paper lanterns, where residents let their creativity shine. These handmade lanterns added a charming glow to our home and were a lovely way to brighten up the season. Singing continued to be a big part of life at Oakland Court, with joyful sessions that filled the home with laughter and music. We welcomed entertainers who brought smiles to every corner, reminding us just how uplifting singing together can be. Our residents also enjoyed a cosy morning of knitting and pom-pom making.
The sweet smell of chocolate soon drifted through the home as residents made chocolate rice crispy cakes, mixing melted chocolate, marshmallows, and rice crispies with plenty of giggles. It was a delicious and fun activity that everyone thoroughly enjoyed. Music and movement continued to lift our spirits, with residents shaking pom-poms and giant feathers, bringing energy and smiles to the room. And each week, we kept up our gardening tradition of planting flowers and bulbs, ready to bloom beautifully in the new year.
A highlight of the month was a lovely visit from Jeanette, whose piano playing always brings joy and comfort. Her delightful mix of music, singing, quizzes, and laughter created an afternoon that residents talked about long after it ended, a perfect blend of entertainment and togetherness.
As we wrap up November, we reflect on a month filled with creativity, warmth, and connection. From crafts and baking to music and movement, every activity brought people together and added joy to our home. We now look forward to a magical December, full of festive fun, celebration, and plenty more precious moments shared.
