November was wonderfully heart-warming, filled with creativity, activity, celebration, & plenty of shared smiles.
We began with a beautiful singalong with Kerry and Sue, whose cheerful voices filled the home with music and joy. Kerry and Sue appear again in another November at Oakland Grange. The uplifting mood carried into our Sit and Be Fit sessions, where colourful pom poms added a fun twist to staying active. Creativity bloomed as residents carved their own pumpkins, producing a mix of spooky and cheerful masterpieces.
As the month continued, residents enjoyed another lively Sit and Be Fit session, full of stretches, big smiles, and even a few cheeky dance moves from their chairs. A relaxing manicure session and an afternoon of peaceful colouring provided a soothing balance to the week’s activities. One of the highlights was our fantastic ABBA singalong, where residents and staff alike became true dancing queens, filling the room with music, fun, and sparkle. This was followed by a beautiful visit from Leila, whose performances always bring joy and togetherness. Residents also created colourful firework craft displays, bursting with glitter and imagination.
This month, we also highlighted the importance of safety and dignity with the introduction of our Raizer Chair, a valuable tool that supports residents gently and confidently following a fall. We enjoyed joyful movement cheerleader-style sessions with Rachael and Faith. A lovely morning trip for coffee and shopping offered fresh air, warm drinks, and a few treats, while an afternoon game of Hangman sparked plenty of laughs. We were also thrilled to welcome The Jiggle Wiggles, whose intergenerational sessions always bring heart-warming moments. We proudly celebrated International Men’s Day, honouring the wonderful men in our home before rounding things off with a lively game of indoor football, full of competitive spirit and fun.
