January was a lively month, filled with fun, memories, and plenty of creativity.
The New Year has kicked off with creativity, warmth, and plenty of joy at Oakland Grange! Our residents embraced the start of 2025 by crafting personalised calendars, reflecting on cherished memories while preparing for a year full of new experiences. This activity has brought not only smiles but a sense of connection and excitement for the year ahead. Here’s to a colourful, inspiring 2025!
Our musical celebrations began with a stunning performance by the incredibly talented Leila, whose beautiful songs touched everyone’s hearts. It was a joy to sing along and soak in the magic of her music. The fun didn’t stop there, as Vespa, our beloved furry friend, made another special visit to Oakland Grange, spreading comfort and joy to everyone. Animal visits like this are a wonderful way to boost spirits and bring a sense of calm and happiness to our residents.
The activities continued with plenty of lively games, from a Scrabble showdown between Peggy, Pam, and Judith, to fun-filled rounds of Ludo with Darlene, Jen, and Beryl. We also enjoyed a playful game of Balloon Badminton, a lighter twist on a classic sport, where the emphasis was on fun and staying active together. Our weekly highlights also included Bingo, where Jen impressed everyone by winning two games! Huge congratulations to Jen, the Bingo Queen!
We wrapped up the month with a relaxing Winter Poetry session, a crisp-tasting session where residents sampled a variety of flavours, and a delightful visit from Ralph, Kiera’s adorable new puppy, whose wagging tail melted hearts. There were also creative moments, with residents crafting decorations for Chinese New Year and enjoying a pamper morning filled with self-care and fun games.
January at Oakland Grange has been a month filled with creativity, laughter, and heartwarming moments. We can’t wait to continue this journey together as we head into February with even more wonderful experiences to look forward to!
