We’ve just planted another 164 trees through our partnership with JUST ONE Tree – taking Oakland Care Group’s forest past the 1,000 mark to 1,016.
Every month, we plant a tree for each resident in our care. No fanfare, no complicated offset schemes. One resident, one room, one tree, every month.
Those 1,016 trees support reforestation projects in Brazil, Madagascar, and Kenya, alongside kelp regeneration off the coasts of the Philippines and Australia. As the forest grows, it will absorb approximately 313 tonnes of CO₂. The projects also create rural employment and restore habitats for wildlife and marine life.
Caring for our residents means caring for the world they live in. The two were never separate.
