July has been another wonderful month at Oakland Court, filled with music, special visitors and memorable experiences shared together.
Residents enjoyed a fantastic variety of entertainment, including performances from Mark, Dave Harris, Mitchell Armstrong, Jannette, Zoe and a lively Elvis tribute, filling the home with singing, dancing and plenty of smiles. We were also delighted to meet Jannette’s adorable new puppy, Stanley, who quickly became a firm favourite with residents.
There were lots of exciting outings and visits throughout the month. A trip to Arundel Museum gave residents the opportunity to explore the fascinating Women’s Land Army exhibition, while visits from Digby the Shetland pony and some friendly hedgehogs brought plenty of cuddles and joy. Residents also enjoyed cheering on Wimbledon, followed by a visit from the ice cream van to help everyone cool down in the summer sunshine.
Keeping active remained an important part of daily life, with regular exercise sessions led by Debbie, gardening with Tony and friendly games of tennis. Residents also took part in our new Golden Glow-Up photoshoot, where everyone enjoyed dressing up and celebrating their confidence, with Stan stealing the show.
The month also included thoughtful reminiscence activities, from learning about the history of Paris and sharing travel memories to creating a virtual time capsule for future generations. Meanwhile, our greenhouse continued to flourish, with tomato plants growing beautifully and beginning to produce fruit.
We were delighted to celebrate Nora’s wonderful 97th birthday with family and friends, making another special milestone to remember.
July has been full of laughter, friendship and meaningful moments at Oakland Court, and we look forward to creating many more happy memories together in the months ahead.
